Last Day On Tour
Wall To Wall Sunshine

Back to Noosa Springs today which is a lot like vegemite - you either love it or you don't.

Noosa Springs as you might imagine by the name has a bit of water around.  In one of the water holes today we came across this image ...

It's a guy in a wet suit fishing around in the water hole looking for golf balls.  Apparently he's sub-contracted by the club and what he finds he sells back to the club.  So how many do you think he found ?

Your guess is as good as mine as to how many are in each sack but there's probably about 300.  And as you can see he's got 4 full sacks of golf balls and he's still out there.  Honestly, none of them belonged to us ....

We played 2 3 4 but such is the nature of Noosa Springs and the way it beats you up, the scores we see each Wednesday at Balmacewen bore no resemblance to the scores of today.  25 won the first set and that was The Nugget, Nick, Fairway Phil and David Peart.  That same team won the middle set with 35 points.  Our group with David B, Kallum Bruce and a wounded Duncan won the last set with 43 points - by about 6 shots !!

Hi score today was 34 points and two people had the low score with 18 points.   Hmmmmm

The Roomies

The Roomies trophy goes to the simple aggregate of all the scores during the week sorted by those people sharing a room.  Unlike the Archie, no scores are dropped.  The scores were;

Alexander & Bloor        Bluey and The Nugget                     340
Attenborough & Keenan        Young Guns                            345
Bates & Grant        Waldorf and Stadtler                                354
Broughton & Stephens        Boring Bean Counters               337
Croudis & Todd        The West Highland Terriers                  356
Griffiths & Nicolson        The Hoons                                       363
Harvie & Peart        Fresh off the Boaties                               338
Newton & Yates        The Grammaticals                                 347

Meaning the Roomies Trophy goes to Nick and Bob

The Archie

The Archie is awarded to the best individual golfer of the week.  The " Broughton Modifier " rules allow that each individual can drop their worst score for the week.  Given we all scored 36 points in the rained out day at Pacific Harbour on Monday, it was effectively a competition over 5 days with the best 4 scores counting.  The scores were

Keith Newton        163
Derek Todd        161
Vaughn Keenan        160
Bruce Grant        159
Bob Griffiths        159
David Peart        156
Nick Nicolson        155
David Bloor        152
Robin Bates        149
Phil Broughton        148
Athol Stephens        147
Kallum Croudis        145
Tony Attenborough        143
Duncan Harvie        141
John Alexander        140
John Yates        137

It's been a fun week of golf and I can report that;

In 80 rounds of golf played by 16 golfers over 5 days, only one person played to their handicap and scored 36 points.

The low score for the week was 18 points.

The average score for the week for the holes played - ie discounting the 36 points we awarded to ourselves at Pacific Harbour was 27.55
