Strange But True

The natives at Noosa Springs are a bit more friendly looking than the black slithery variety seen at Maroochy River yesterday.
Only two stories to report today.
Only one man scored greater than 30 stableford points today. Noosa Springs is quite long and quite tight and if you can't hit it straight you'll get found out. Many did. The lowest score today was 18 points. The course beat a few people up. But we need to recognise one effort which stood out by a country mile.
The average score today was 25.4 stablefords. Just think about that for a moment. It was a tough day at the office for many of us and many thought the minimum score of 11 points on tour might be in jeopardy. But amongst all of that carnage and debris, one man stood tall. Today it was a privilege and a pleasure to play with Derek Todd who shot 75 off the stick and nail 34 points. This was the first time he had played the course and it's not easy. Stand tall Derek, a brilliant effort and very very good golf.
Now to the alternative world that Bruce appears to live in. Figure this one out.
It's a par 4 and it's time to hit your ball off the tee. Brucie was sharing a cart with Keith. So on the par 4, Bruce is standing on the tee, driver in hand, in the final preparations of hitting his tee shot. You with me so far, nothing unusual right ....... OK challenge time, see if you can guess what happened next. I'll bet a lot of money you won't pick this one.
So Bruce is in to those little tiny swings where he's ready to pull the trigger and fire his ball down the fairway. He's just about to start his back swing when ........
Keith shouts out " hey, has anyone seen my driver ?"
And what transpires is that Bruce has gone to the wrong golf bag at the back of the golf cart and picked Keith's driver out and not his own. So what's the big deal you might ask. Well the big deal is that Keith is left handed and Bruce definitely isn't.
So let your mind wander and figure out what was happening when Bruce was about to pull the trigger on his drive using a left handed driver. Go figure ....
So finally, the good news is that we get another go at Noosa Springs on our final day when once again we can leave a golf course sporting bruises and black eyes.
