No Day 4 Update Because ....

It rained and it rained hard and it rained more or less all day.  The Sunshine Coast became the Rain Coast and an inch of rain in old money fell from the sky.  We bravely played 4 holes because " it looks like it might be clearing yeah ..."  - " Nah" but as the rain only intensified and the fairways got wetter we pulled the pin and called it quits.  Which is a shame because Pacific Harbour on Bribie Island is a course worth playing.  Next time .....

But Day 5 Dawned

This stunning image taken by The Nugget at 6:45 am was all the encouragement we needed to know that a great day was about to happen.  The rain had disappeared and the sun was here to stay.

Today we went back to our favourite golf course - Twin Waters - for our second attempt at putting some points on the board.  The golf course is full of native Australian wildlife, and talking of Australian native wildlife, the Queensland Maroons State of Origin team were on the course today.  Big boys they are too.

Here we see Fairway Phil mixing it with the locals.  As you can see, it was a great day.

For the record it's close at the top.  Given we didn't complete our rounds yesterday we gave ourselves 36 points for the day.  Even though the course was long and the weather utterly miserable, it's obvious we would have each scored 36 points.  So the scores going into the final round are

Derek Todd        161
Bob Griffiths        159
Keith Newton        157
David Peart        156
Vaughn Keenan        155
Bruce Grant        153
Robin Bates        149
David Bloor        147
Athol Stephens        147
Nick Nicolson        146
Kallum Croudis        145
Phil Broughton        144
Tony Attenborough        143
John Alexander        140
Duncan Harvie        138
John Yates        137

It's even more complicated given we allow competitors to drop their lowest counting score.  Game On !!

The Nightly Protein Diet

Tonight we went to the Beach House bar and grill where the best steak on the Sunshine Coast ( allegedly ) is on offer.  Here we see a typical example of the nightly meal with steak and beef ribs being the staple diet.  Very good it was too !

Tomorrow it's our final day when we're back at Noosa Springs.  It's tighter and tougher and by this time tomorrow we'll know our winner.
